Pee Pee In My Pocket

This morning we had to get up early to get blood taken, and give our “urine sample”(I guess that’s the proper term) to the doctor. Anyways, we had planned to leave at 7:30a to take the bus, because the cabs are usually not out that early. Brittany and I were ready to go even after only 2 hours of sleep. (This time difference is no joke!) Our roommates, however, still were not up by 7:25, so I knocked on their door. They were still asleep but tried to stumble to the bathroom to quickly get ready. Brittany was beginning to get stressed out because she hates being late. She is the type of person to leave 30 min early to walk across the street LOL. Me on the other hand, I’m usually playing a game of beat the clock. We had to bring our urine sample with us. The night before, we were all given small plastic bottles with tops to put our samples in. As most people know, when it comes to doing a test where you are forced to pee for some reason our bladders usually get shy. However, being told to do it in the morning eliminates that problem of not being able to pee, and creates the new issue of how to focus when you just woke up and really have to go, trying to aim (as a girl it’s not so easy), and knowing when to stop so you don’t overfill the cup, and end up with a wet hand! I finished the task successfully, (with a dry hand) and rushed out the door with the pee-pee in my jacket pocket. I then realized that now I had to figure out how I was going to rush down the stairs without the bottle tipping over. Even though it had a top, you never know when it could pop open. I didn’t care if it had a tight lid I didn’t want the bottle tumbling around in my pocket. We power walked to the bus station, as I fumbled with how to hold it steady in my pocket. Do I try and keep my forearm close to my body on the outside of my jacket so it doesn’t move? Well as soon as I made that decision our bus pulled up and we had to break out in a sprint to get there. So now I’m running, pee-pee in my pocket, left hand stuck to my jacket, right arm swinging naturally because I was running. We made the bus, which was crowded, so I was standing. I still had my left hand stuck to me in the imaginary sling holding the bottle in place, but my right hand was now holding a bar above my head. I probably looked like a bull rider about to get bucked off the way the bus was moving. This basically puts my pocket right beside some man’s face that was sitting in the seat beside me. Now I’m nervous, thinking I hope I don’t lose my balance and booty-bump this man’s cheek, AND I hope he can’t smell that I have pee-pee in my pocket! Ugh! New plan. I put my hand in my pocket and just held the bottle. It still seemed weird because what if somehow then my hand smelled like pee. I didn’t care at that point, at least it wouldn’t tip over. We made it to the location to meet up with the coaches and started the walk to the doctor. This was a 15-minute walk of gripping this bottle in my left hand. You couldn’t tell I had pee-pee in my pocket, so I started to wonder what other people we passed had in their pockets. This made the walk go by faster. We finally made it to the doctor, and I was relieved to be able to pass the don’t spill the pee game on to her. After the doctor, we had breakfast. Most people do not really eat breakfast so that leaves breakfast options less than satisfying, but hey food is food. We spent the rest of the day asleep until our 5:30p practice. For dinner, I wanted something different so we walked to a local pizza place for Pizza, bottled water, and two salads. The total bill was 21 in Romanian Lei, which is $5.92 USD. So after we split it, we had dinner for $2.96 each! I pretty much chalked up today as a success. Now to take some ZzzQuil to try and get this sleeping back on track!
